Call Me Maybe

MONDAY MUSINGS....

Monday is more than halfway over and I am playing catch up today after a long weekend in Austin for a good friend's wedding.  Lots to do after a wonderful wedding weekend, but in the meantime, a belated bits of truth post from last week since I was not on the ball on Thursday and didn't get this posted before heading to Austin for the weekend.  Hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend and having a good start to the week!
I can't get enough of the Call Me Maybe parodies, they are everywhere these days.  This video of Rebecca Minkoff, Hilary Rhoda, and Leandra Medine (The Man Repeller) getting ready for the CFDA Awards is fabulous, by any chance, Rebecca, are you hiring? I'd like to sign up as your new best friend and assistant, think we would be great friends instantly! Seriously though, don't they all look like so much fun?

And finally, READ: a remarkable graduation speech given by author Anne Lamott.  Another reminder to take a moment to pause and enjoy your life in the present moment.

TINY BITS OF TRUTH

A little different than usual I felt this article was really worth mentioning first and I highly recommend everyone of you read it when you have a few minutes.  It was written by graduating Yale senior, Marina Keegan, for a special edition of the News distributed at the class of 2012's commencement exercises last week.  Unfortunately, Marina Keegan, age 22, was killed in a car accident this past weekend and will never get to experience life after college.  As you can tell from her article, The Opposite of Loneliness, she certainly was wise beyond her years.  In the past week, her final article has gone viral resonating with people all over the world.  Amazing and so tragic.

I am sure many of you have seen the following video, but in case you missed it, this is a great video of the Harvard Baseball team's rendition of "Call Me Maybe":

CURRENTLY LOVING

I am loving this Tibi silk dress and had to share with ya'll since not only is this one of those dresses you could wear about a million times, but if you are feeling the itch to buy this gorgeous gown, head on over to Shopbop to take advantage of their latest deal. This is definitely a dress that could have gone in my wedding outfit inspirations from yesterday, wouldn't it be perfect for a summer wedding? Just the right pop of color and the perfect amount of skin showing, fabulous all over.

On a different note, it's no secret that I love the song Call Me Maybe and this hilarious parody from Leno with President Obama and Mitt Romney is too funny... you can see the video here. Just in case you aren't familiar with the song, you can check out Call Me Maybe below:
