Boo Radley

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOO RADLEY!

Puppy Love, Birthdays, Boo Radley
Excuse me for a minute while I unleash my inner dog lady, but I couldn't let this day pass without wishing the cutest Bichon Frise in town (of course I'm a little biased!), Boo Radley, a very happy birthday.  Whew, and what a year it has been with her.  Those of ya'll who know me are very well aware of the many health problems Boo Radley has had from day one.  I mean what puppy has to have open heart surgery at eight months?  I can promise you, not many.  Looking back on her heart surgery seems like a walk in the park compared to her past year here in NYC with me.  I'll spare ya'll the details of her health woes the last 12 months, and just say Boo Radley truly is a little miracle dog with more life and personality than I could possibly have imagined.  I often say & truly believe that dogs teach you, for the first time in your life, to think about the well being of someone other than yourself, and that has been such an important lesson for me personally to learn.  Fellow dog owners, wouldn't ya'll agree? Hope ya'll are having a wonderful Tuesday!

HELLO, OCTOBER!

Images via:1/2/3
Hello, October.. show me what you've got! October brings with it the cooler temperatures, the actual changing of the leaves here in NYC (one of the MAJOR perks of living in the northeast...you actually get to experience four true seasons, and I absolutely love it!), Halloween-which as a true candy aficionado means I can find just about all of my favorites in "fun size" perfect to throw in my purse (just in case I get the sugar urge while out and about, you just never know), and finally, Halloween has to be Boo Radley's favorite holiday of the year-I mean she does happen to be white, fluffy, and named Boo... this holiday screams her name.  Judge all you want, but I'm the first to admit I love dressing Boo Radley up for Halloween-she's been a hippo, taco, and ballerina...and I'm looking for the perfect costume for this year, which I'll make sure to share with ya'll once I find it! If ya'll have a pet, do you dress them up for Halloween? If so, would love to hear your ideas for costumes!

I will spare ya'll the details of where I've been the month of September and why I didn't keep up my regular daily posts on the B-L-O-G, and just say that I'll give an update when I get the post on this finished and edited down to ensure I don't bore you so much so that you never come back and visit the site again, now that would be a shame wouldn't it? What I will do is say that while I have every intention of posting once a day on the weekdays, there will be days when that just doesn't happen. It doesn't mean I've given up blogging, in fact it's quite the opposite.  Simply put- life happens and sometimes I'd rather go out and live my life than sit down and type away on the computer thinking about the life I want to live.  Does that make any sense ? I often wish I could be two places at once, both at my computer finishing my to-do lists while also outside breathing in this gorgeous fall weather on a leisurely walk with a close friend and Boo Radley...that would be the best of both worlds, wouldn't it?

I couldn't welcome in October without mentioning my guilty pleasure and very favorite show, Gossip Girl, kicks off the show's final season Monday, October 8th, at 9 p.m. ET. If you're anything like me, you will want to check out this trailer for the final season.

Hope this Monday was amazing and the week is off to a fabulous start!

LINK LOVE

I'm all over the place with links I wanted to share with ya'll today,  so here we go...

For all those who love puppies (because honestly, who in their right mind doesn't love puppies?), the Fluffington Post  is for YOU.... silly, amusing, and pictures of puppies..starting with a photo I took of the cutest puppy I know, Boo Radley ...

Coke machine takes payment in form of HUGS? Yes you read that right, no money required, only love and hugs for this machine... arms open wide.  A new coke machine at the National University of Singapore dispenses cokes in exchange for hugs... genius marketing concept? Maybe?

Unless you've been living under a rock the past few months, you're very well aware that Instagram is the latest and greatest in the social media world (hello, Facebook did just buy it for a ridiculous amount of money).  While it is a pretty amazing app, the one downside I've heard a million times over is people wishing to have Instagram online not just on their phones... well you don't have to wait any longer, because a website soley for taking YOUR Instagram photos live online, WEBBYGRAM.

For the Austin lover in me, I got a big laugh over the new tumblr WhenInAustin... And a few photos I took in Austin last fall before moving to New York...

Six Reason to Move to Austin, (what, like you needed any more reasons?), but seriously if you are contemplating it, what are you waiting for? Do it already, you won't regret it.

And finally, this has been in the news the past few days here in NYC, but in case it was not in other cities, I just had to share this article about a guy in finance here in NYC who emailed his dating spreadsheet to one of the many girls he was currently seeing.  MORON, of course the girl shared it with her nearest and dearest friends, who then shared it with their nearest and dearest, and you get my point.  Next thing you know, it lands up on the front page of the New York Post! Check it out below, and for the record guys, it is NEVER, EVER okay to keep a spreadsheet to remember the girls you are currently going on dates with, we don't care if you work long days and with spreadsheets, quite frankly we don't care if you haven't slept in ten years, there is no explanation for tracking our dates in a spreadsheet used for your number crunching. The image is a bit fuzzy, but ya'll get where he was going with this detailed spreadsheet...
